Criteria
Our policy for ordering companies: when you search or filter, from most to least relevant. When you first arrive, a rotating mix of relevance and chance.
Verified
When a company is listed as verified
A company is verified when it meets any of these requirements. It does not depend on paying or on any plan.

Most relevant first
How we order results
When you search for a product or pick a category, faufena first shows the companies closest to the product's origin that can sell it to you in Argentina with the fewest intermediaries. The order cannot be bought: it does not depend on paying or on any plan.
Materials
Products with their own brand, representation or manufacturing.
- Exclusive distributorsThey are the only ones selling that brand in the country or region.
- Authorized distributorsThey sell the brand with the manufacturer's authorization.
- ManufacturersThey produce it at their plant, in series or from their own catalog.
- Stockists (permanent own stock)They hold their own permanent stock in Argentina.
- ImportersNo stock: they import to order and deliver it duty-paid in Argentina.
- TradersThey deliver it abroad, FOB, CFR or another term: you handle the import.
Commodities
Pipe, flanges, fittings, gaskets, stud bolts, valves, steels and profiles.
In commodities there are no exclusive or authorized distributors. So the order is:
- ManufacturersThey produce it at their plant.
- Stockists (permanent own stock)Own permanent stock in Argentina.
- ImportersThey import to order and deliver it duty-paid.
- TradersThey deliver it abroad.
What you can get here comes first
Companies abroad go last
Manufacturers and distributors with no presence in Argentina (they sell to you from abroad) always appear last, in their own group. They can be a good option, but for a small or mid-sized business that needs few units, the most practical choice is to buy from a domestic manufacturer or from a distributor or importer that sells here.
Within each group
Longest track record first
Among companies of the same type (for example, two flange manufacturers), those with the most proven track record appear higher: members of associations or groups such as GAPP (Argentine Group of Oil Suppliers), CAPIPE, Centro PyME-ADENEU or the Córdoba and Mar del Plata clusters, those with an ASME stamp, those that have taken part most often in the Argentina Oil & Gas Expo or Arminera, and those with the most years in business.
What is the difference between a distributor and an importer?
The stockist (permanent own stock) holds its own permanent stock in Argentina. The importer has no stock: it imports to order and delivers it to you in Argentina. Both sell you the product duty-paid: they invoice you, sell to you in pesos and collect payment in Argentina.
And a trader?
The trader delivers the product abroad, FOB, CFR or another term. The import, with its paperwork and lead times, is up to you.
On faufena we only include traders that have an office in Argentina with its own staff: people you can invite to an in-person meeting and get to know. Otherwise the catalog would fill up with traders from anywhere in the world.
Which companies do we not list?
To appear on faufena, a company must be verifiable from the outside: a working website, a LinkedIn profile or a Google Maps listing with its address. If it has none of those, we do not list it, even if it writes to us and tells us what it does: we have no way to validate that it actually does it.
Something similar applies to manufacturers abroad: we only list them if they have an office, representative or distributor in Argentina to talk to. Otherwise the catalog would fill up with hundreds of manufacturers from all over the world.
What about services and construction projects?
Companies with a proven track record (verified) are shown first and, within each search, those that best match what you searched for.
Why does the company list change every time I visit?
When you go to Companies without searching or filtering, the list is built with a mix of our criteria and chance: companies with the most proven track record are more likely to appear at the top, but the order changes with every visit to give more companies visibility. As soon as you search for a product or pick a category or a filter, the relevance order explained above applies again.
Can a company pay to appear first?
No. The order comes from how each company sells each product and from its track record. The Premium plan adds the Contact button and a photo, but does not change this criterion.
Is your company misclassified?
Write to us and we will review it.
