Oil production
Crude oil, condensate and natural gas liquids (NGL), in thousand barrels per day, 2025.
Includes NGL, which is why Argentina shows 943 thousand bbl/d. Crude alone, according to the Energy Secretariat, was about 897 thousand bbl/d in June 2026 (an all-time record); see month-by-month production. Source: Eni World Energy Review 2026 (IEA-based).
Gas production
Marketed natural gas, in million m³ per day, 2025 (bcm per year ÷ 0.365).
* Brazil: gross production. More than half of the pre-salt gas is reinjected into the reservoirs; what reaches the market is considerably less than what Argentina produces. Argentina: 158 MMm³/d in June 2026 (Energy Secretariat). Source: OPEC, Annual Statistical Bulletin 2026; global figures vary by source (the Energy Institute gives 4,197 bcm, about 11,500 MMm³/d).
LNG (liquefied natural gas)
LNG exports in million tonnes, 2025. One million tonnes per year is equivalent to about 3.7 MMm³/d of gas.

Liquefaction capacity. Argentina LNG aims to take the final investment decision on 26-Nov-2026 and could reach 18 Mt. Global liquefaction capacity is 524.5 Mt per year.

Activity: rigs, frac jobs and wells
What a service company looks at. Here Argentina weighs much more than in production: it is the largest shale development outside North America.

With 15 fleets, Vaca Muerta completed 23,784 frac stages in 2025 (+34%), according to NCS Multistage. faufena records 21,570 stages in sworn filings to the Energy Secretariat. Source: Primary Vision via AOGR · NCS Multistage via LM Neuquén.

Proved reserves
As of December 31, 2025.

Argentina's proved reserves are small because they are certified as wells are drilled. Vaca Muerta's technically recoverable resources are estimated at about 16 billion bbl of oil and 8.7 tcm of gas (EIA, 2013). Source: Eni WER 2026, gas.
What it means for a supplier
- Argentina produces about 1% of the world's oil, but has some 54 drilling rigs and 15 frac fleets: about 5% of the rigs working outside the U.S. and Canada. For drilling, fracturing, sand, water and logistics it is a first-tier market.
- More than 26 thousand wells produce and some 22 thousand are conventional, with decades of operation: artificial lift, pulling, workover, secondary recovery and facility maintenance are a large and stable market.
- If the LNG projects go ahead, Argentina would go from exporting 0 to exporting up to 18 Mt per year, more than Peru and Trinidad and Tobago combined.
